I know a lot of Black Ops PC players have a lagging problem specially in the multiplayer mode. I've been trying a lot of methods and finally found the right one to use. Just follow this simple guide for your way to peaceful playing.
Nvidia Graphic Card with PhysX
- Right Click on Desktop then choose "Nvidia Control Panel".
- Go to "Select a Task... -> 3D Settings -> Set PhysX configuration".
- In "Select a PhysX processor:", choose "CPU" in the drop menu.
- Click "Apply" button at the bottom.
- Open Black Ops and play in peace without any lag...
For players that doesn't have graphic card with PhysX, you can try another method I found.
Other Way
- Open Black Ops game.
- At the keyboard, press "Alt+Tab" or any other way that can make your Desktop appear without closing the game.
- Now you need to open the Task Manager. At the keyboard, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete or for Windows 7 user you can just right click on the clock at the Taskbar and choose "Start Task Manager".
- In the Task Manager, click on the "Process" tab. Then right click on BlackOps.exe and "Set Priority" to "High".
- Same as above, in Task Manager Process tab, right click on "steam.exe" and set the priority to low.
- Go back to the game and play in peace without any lag...
*Note:
For some reason Black Ops PC require more processor power if compared to Modern Warfare 2. As you noticed for the Nvidia card with PhysX how I change the PhysX setting to use CPU as the main engine and not the graphic card.
