Skyrim Basic Mod Definition
If you are in the Nexus Mod community, you will see tons of new words that you didn't understand the meaning. Here I will show you some of the most popular words that are used in the Nexus mod website.
NPC
- Just for the sake of newcomer to the gaming world, basically mean Non Playable Character.
NMM
- Basically mean Nexus Mod Manager. This is the program that most of the mod user use to apply mod to Skyrim game. A must have for people who are new to Skyrim mod.
CTD
- Mean "Crash To Desktop". Basically mean the game will be force to close and all you will see is your Desktop or any other program that is still on.
Lore Friendly
- I had a lot trouble finding the right meaning to this since many people have a different definition to this. After spending some time looking at tons of mods that have "Lore Friendly" description, note and title, I've come to this conclusion. It mean the mod will look natural in a Skyrim world without compromising the true feeling to the game world. It's like the mods is already build in, in the game.
Not Lore Friendly
- The opposite of Lore Friendly. A lightsaber, car, torchlight and all stuff that look like out of the world of Skyrim, this will definitely be in Not Lore Friendly category.
Vanilla
- Basically mean all the default stuff like clothes, hair, body, etc. So if the mod is for vanilla hair, it mean it will change the default hair that came from the game.
Example: "Vanilla Hair" is the default hair exactly just like when you first make your character when you first play Skyrim without any mod.
ENB
- Searched the internet and found nothing about the true meaning of ENB but for the Skyrim mod community, basically mean a mod that change the graphical effects. There are tons of ENB mods out there. Each have its own features.
UNP
- A popular body mod for your female character.
UNPB
- A popular body mod for your female character. Basically an advance version of UNP body where the character can have bigger breast.
CCBE
- A popular body mod for your female character.
ADEC
- A popular body mod for your female character.
Standalone
- Basically mean that the mod doesn't need any other mod to make it fully working. Usually some mod require other mod to make it work. Standalone mod doesn't require all that since it can work all alone by itself. You can see a lot of standalone mod in Armour, Weapon and "Follower - other" category.
