For those who are new to Skyrim mod, this is some simple stuff that you need to do before modding the Skyrim game.
Things to do before using mod for the first time.
- Driver update will fix some of the bug that your PC might have. (mainboard, graphic card, mouse, keyboard, controller, headsets, sound card, etc)
*Use Speccy if you don't know what kind of hardware your PC have. Get it here.
2. Update your Windows with latest fix.
- Same reason as updating your hardware driver.
3. Make backup if you have save file.
- If you already have Skyrim installed, make a backup for the save file since some mods will temper the save file. So make a backup so you won't cry later on.
*File location at - My Documents/My Games/Skyrim/Saves
4. Have a clean install of Skyrim.
- Sometime the already installed Skyrim have bug in it so this will avoid you're getting a problem with some mods.
5. Update Skyrim with the latest patch update.
- Most of the good mods require latest patch for it to work. So it's best to patch it early so you won't forget about it and do damage on you game files.
6. Enable DATA FILE option at Skyrim launcher.
- This is a must. Otherwise the mod will not work. Click here to see how to do it.
7. Install NMM (Nexus Mod Manager)
